Summary
Die bestehende Anlage der Heilpädagogische Schule (HPS) in Heerbrugg platzt aus allen Nähten und kann deswegen keine weiteren Menschen mit Beeinträchtigung mehr aufnehmen. Sie wurde über die Jahre mehrfach erweitert und mit Provisorien versehen. In der Folge weist sie eine heterogene Struktur sowie eine entsprechend in die Jahre gekommene Bausubstanz auf. Zudem weist die bestehende Anlage sowohl betriebliche Mängel, als auch weitere Defizite bei den Räumen und der Infrastruktur auf. Mit einem offenen Projektwettbewerb möchte die Heilpädagogische Vereinigung Rheintal (HPV) einen Projektbeitrag für ein neues Schulhaus auf der Nebenparzelle finden. Mit einem Neubau können die Probleme mit der Bausubstanz und dem Schulbetrieb gelöst werden. Auch kann so der Schulbetrieb während der Bauphase sichergestellt werden. Teilnahmeberechtigt sind Teams bestehend aus den Fachbereichen Architektur und Landschaftsarchitektur. Diese erarbeiten einen Projektbeitrag, welcher den Bedürfnissen der HPS entspricht.
