Questions

Where are architecture tenders published in Italy?
Since 2024 every Italian procedure runs on a certified e-procurement platform and is published through ANAC's national public contracts database; above the EU thresholds the notice also goes to TED. TenderDesk shows the TED notices today, scored so the real design commissions come first.
What is a concorso di progettazione?
A design competition, often in two stages: an anonymous first stage of ideas, then a short list develops its proposal. The winner can be awarded the following design phases if the competition notice says so.
Which design levels does the 2023 code use?
Two: the technical and economic feasibility project (progetto di fattibilità tecnico-economica, PFTE) and the executive project (progetto esecutivo). The former intermediate level, the progetto definitivo, was dropped.
Can an architecture firm from another country bid in Italy?
Yes. Public tenders in the EU are open to firms from other member states on equal terms, and many teams pair a foreign lead with a local partner. Check the tender's requirements for professional registration (the Ordine degli Architetti) and for the language of the submission.
