Where are architecture tenders published in Germany?
Above the EU thresholds, in TED and on the federal and state procurement platforms, where the documents are downloaded and the bids submitted. The federal open-data service oeffentlichevergabe.de also publishes the notices of the platforms connected to it. TenderDesk shows the TED notices, scored so the real design commissions come first.
How does a VgV procedure for architects work?
Most often as a Verhandlungsverfahren mit Teilnahmewettbewerb: firms first apply with their references and team, the buyer invites a short list, and each presents its approach and fee before the contract is negotiated. The work is usually described in the HOAI service phases (Leistungsphasen 1 to 9).
What is a Planungswettbewerb?
A planning competition run under the RPW 2013 guidelines: anonymous entries, an independent jury with a majority of qualified architects, prize money, and as a rule a commission for one of the prize winners. Many competitions are limited to a selected or invited number of teams.
Can an architecture firm from another country bid in Germany?
Yes. Public tenders in the EU are open to firms from other member states on equal terms, and many teams pair a foreign lead with a local partner. Check the tender's requirements for professional registration (the Architektenkammer of the federal state where you will work) and for the language of the submission.
