Summary

Im «Südquartier» in Rapperswil soll das neue Berufs- und Weiterbildungszentrum (BWZR) entstehen, um für rund 1'600 Lernende einen lebendigen Treffpunkt des Lernens zu schaffen. Dafür ist auf 8'682 m² Raumprogrammfläche ein vielfältiges Angebot an differenzierten Lern- und Begegnungsräumen vorgesehen. Eine weitere Stärkung des Bildungsstandorts wird durch die Unterbringung der Berufs- und Laufbahnberatung (BLB) unter dem gleichen Dach angestrebt. Gesucht werden Projektvorschläge für einen identitätsstiftenden Neubau, dessen Gebäudestruktur auch zukünftigen Anforderungen der Berufsbildung gerecht wird. Das St.Galler Stimmvolk stimmte am 8. März 2026 einem entsprechenden Kredit zu.
